Bucharest-Ploiesti Highway Will Not Be Done On Time, Constructors Will Be Fined – Minister

The Bucharest-Ploiesti highway will not be completed on time, by December of this year, but rather in 2012, and the constructors responsible will be penalized by 0.05% of the contract value per day, said Transport Minister Anca Boagiu.

An evaluation will be carried out on December 15.

Work on the 62 km-long Bucharest - Ploiesti highway is split in two sectors: Bucharest - Moara Vlasiei, built by the Italian consortium Impressa Pizzarotti - Tirrena Scavi, and Moara Vlasiei - Ploiesti, built by local consortium Spedition UMB - Pa&Co International - Euroconstruct '98 - Com-Axa.
