Court Decides To Release Romanian Media Owner Sorin Ovidiu Vintu

The Bucharest Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that Romanian businessman Sorin Ovidiu Vintu, his driver Alexandru Stoian and Moldovan businessman Octavian Turcan will be investigated at large.

Vintu and Turcan are forbidden from leaving Romania while the investigation is underway, the Court ruled.

According to the charges, the three helped Nicolae Popa, convicted in absentia to 15 years in prison for fraud, flee the country.
