Fire Breaks Out In Building Near U.S. Embassy In Bucharest

A powerful fire broke out Friday morning in the basement of a building near the U.S. embassy in northern Bucharest, in the residential Baneasa area.

Authorities said a car caught fire in the building's underground parking and one person who tried to put out the fire required medical care.

Firefighters say there is no danger of the fire spreading to the new headquarters of the embassy, which was inaugurated this week.
