Five People Injured As Wall Collapses Near Bucharest’s Gara De Nord Train Station

Five people were injured Thursday in Bucharest as a wall collapsed near the city’s busiest train station, Gara de Nord, and caught them under the debris.

Emergency rescue teams have pulled out all victims, of which three had minor head injuries and one had a more serious leg injury. None of the five people was knocked unconscious when the wall collapsed.

The five are construction workers and they were performing demolition and consolidation works on the wall that collapsed. The local work inspectorate has opened an inquiry to see whether work safety rules were observed.
