The minister visited the International Tourism Fair in Berlin and met with TUI officials. They discussed the state's strategy for investments into the southern part of the coast, illegal buildings and plans to clean up the sea resorts.
TUI official Detlef Hoehne said local hotel operators must adapt to the demands of German tourists. He said the prices charged on the Romanian coast are too high.
Udrea said Romania will try to cooperate with TUI on other local tourism products.
No more than a few hundred German tourists arrived on the Romanian coast through TUI last year.
