Google Romania Becomes Full Member Of IAB Romania

As a member, Google Romania will be able to take part in the association's activities, including research, training, standardization, industry events, public affairs, operations and social media. The company may also run for management positions in the association's Romanian or European branches.

"Google opened a Romanian office to be a local player, to take active part in developing the online medium and thus it is only natural to join IAB. The Internet as a business and communications medium is developing quickly and IAB plays an important part in ensuring healthy growth," said Dan Bulucea, Google Romania country manager.

Cristi Petriceanu, president of IAB Romania, said: "Google joining IAB Romania is a sign of market strength, of confidence in the association's actions to support and participate in the online industry's development."

Google is the fifth multi-national corporation to join IAB Romania, following Orange, ING, Gemius and Smart Adserver, and is also a member of IAB internationally.

IAB Romania currently has 49 members. It was founded in 2006 as an association of the most important companies in Internet advertising: media players, advertising agencies, online advertising service providers and publishers.
