Sorin Blejnar was dismissed Tuesday from the position of president of Romania's tax authority, ANAF, after a discussion with Prime Minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, the Government informs.

Head Of Romanian Tax Authority Resigns

Blejnar will be placed in charge of the department for the investigation of large wealth, people close to the matter told MEDIAFAX.

Serban Pop will take over as head of ANAF. Pop was vice-president of the tax authority during the Tariceanu Cabinets (2004-08) and was dismissed by order of Prime Minister Emil Boc in January 2009.
