Healthcare Workers Account for 25% of All Covid-19 Infections in Romania

The Romanian healthcare workers' federation said Wednesday 25% of people in Romania infected with Covid-19 are healthcare workers and the infection rate among healthcare staff is 20 higher than in other mediums.

On April 7, 2020, Romania had 1,087 healthcare workers infected. The federation said the infection rate among medical staff was 0.543% compared with 0.02% among the general population.

It warned all healthcare worker could end up infected within the next 27 days if the transmission rate is maintained.

On April 7, Romania had 4,417 confirmed cases of Covid-19, of which 460 had recovered and 182 had died from the illness.
