Klaus Iohannis announces he is proposing Ludovic Orban again for the position of prime minister

"The next practical step is the appointment of a person in charge of forming a new government. After consulting with all the parliamentary parties, I appoint Ludovic Orban to form a new government and to appear in the Parliament", Klaus Iohannis has told.

The head of state has emphasized that the Orban Government wanted to reform the state and has come with measures "in favor of Romania", unlike the PSD.

"We have a liberal government that came up with a reform agenda, wanted to reform many programs, to come up with improvements on electoral legislation, economic and social measures in the inertia of Romania. He wanted to fix the mistakes that had been made by the PSD governments. On the other hand, we have a PSD that still has many MPs and that opposes these changes. A government that wants to move things and a PSD that wants to stop things. Only the last example I think is obvious. PNL, through the Orban Government, wanted to bring improvements to the electoral legislation regarding the local elections. He wanted to re-introduce the election of mayors in two rounds. PSD filed a motion and it passed", Iohannis added.

Klaus Iohannis had consultations with the parliamentary parties at Cotroceni Palace on Thursday.
