Marcel Vela announces the Military Decree number 9: The ban on wheat exports, eliminated
Minister Marcel Vela has issued, on Thursday, OM9, by which the ban on the export of wheat was eliminated. Also, the document on Thursday extended the suspension of flights to and from Romania from: Great Britain, Northern Ireland, USA, Belgium, Netherlands, Turkey, Iran, Italy, France and Germany.

Minister Vela announced on Thursday afternoon that he signed and submitted for approval to prime minister Ludovic Orban the Military Ordinance number 9 (OM9).
"An important point of the ordinance concerns the prohibition of the export of wheat and other derived products, a prohibition which was specified and imposed in the previous OM. By this ordinance, the articles prohibiting this export cease its applicability because, following the discussions conducted at the governmental level with the cereal products traders, the perspective was obtained and the acquisition necessary to complete the state reserve was clarified so that a subject that concerns the Government of Romania, food security, to be insured until the next harvest. Everything that has been banned for export (...) from this moment I announce the producers and traders that this export is no longer banned", said Interior Affairs minister Marcel Vela, in the press statement.
Through the same normative act, navigators and cross-border workers from the border with Bulgaria, working on a 30-kilometer long radius, are exempted from the isolation rules if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19.
"In this ordinance we have extended the suspension of flights to and from Romania from: United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, USA, Belgium, Netherlands, Turkey, Iran, Italy, France and Germany. They were suspended in the previous ordinances and the term of 14 days today is extended proportionally for each country”, said Vela.
Also, through OM 9 it was stipulated that the agri-food markets remain open during this period, provided that the regulations imposed by all military ordinances are respected.
In a press statement, Minister Marcel Vela stressed that it is important for Romanians to respect the provisions of the military ordinances and the recommendations received from the Romanian Orthodox Church.
"Avoid the crowds, if you go shopping, interact with other people, do not go on visits and do not receive guests on the feast of the Passover. (...) We have a common enemy: the new type of coronavirus. The Ministry of Interior Affairs is not relaxing during this period. Policemen, gendarmes, border police, MApN military and local police will be present on duty", added the source.
