The march will be followed by a rally outside the Government's headquarters, which has prompted traffic restrictions in the Romanian capital.
The Government approved late January a decree that changes the way pensions of former military personnel are calculated. Under the decree, military pensions are calculated based on the gross average salary instead of individual income and extends the recalculation deadline until the end of 2011.
Two weeks ago, over 600 military retirees filed suit at the Bucharest Court of Appeals to have the decree suspended. The court is expected to issue a ruling on March 23.
