Nelu Tătaru: We have 3.183 confirmed cases of coronavirus

"Today, in Romania, we have 3.183 people confirmed with coronavirus, 281 were declared cured. According to a quick analysis of the National Institute of Public Health, conducted on February 26, when the first case of infection with SARS-VOC 2 was registered, and until March 29, 2020, we started from one, two confirmed cases per day, and on March 10, the trend became ascending, the average number of cases going up to 30, and then doubling every three days", said Nelu Tătaru, in a press conference.

The Health minister added that 75% of the cases were confirmed in persons aged 40 and 79 years.

"The average age of death is 66 years, most of the cases having chronic diseases associated. 45,7% of all cases were registered as a result of contact with infected persons, and their number is increasing. 16,2% of the total confirmed cases were registered among the medical personnel", said Nelu Tătaru.
