New Car Registrations Up 18.8% on Year in January, Used Car Registrations Down 8%

New car registrations in Romanian grew 18.8% in January compared with January 2018, to 13,952 units, data from Romania’s association of automotive manufacturers ACAROM showed Wednesday.

Second hand cars registered for the first time in Romania dropped 7.99% on the year in January, to 36,126 units.

By brands, the biggest growth in registrations was registered by local Dacia with 5,267 units (+ 45.78% on year), followed by Dacia owner Renault with 1,231 units (+70.03%), Ford with 995 units (+18.74%), Skoda with 936 units (+3.43%), and Volkswagen with 790 units (-26.85%).
