New Car Tax Should Consider Households' Low Income - Minister
Romania's Environment Minister, Rovana Plumb, said Monday she has told the government workgroup in charge of reanalyzing the car pollution tax that there are six million people on the brink of poverty in Romania and they need assistance.

The workgroup is made up of officials from the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Transport, Romanian Car Registry and the Association of Automobile Importers and Producers.
The minister said the car tax will be in line with European regulations.
As of this year, the car pollution tax is 25% lower, but its application was also suspended by the Government in January until 2013.
