The average number of employees in the Romanian private sector decreased by 5% in September 2010 compared to the same month last year, and employees’ average salary income was up 9%, according to a survey conducted by staff management company PayLogic.

The average number of private sector employees was down 2% in September this year compared to January 2010, while employees' average salary income was up 4%.
"The income increase was not necessarily determined by wage raises, but had to do with the companies' performance and the employees' efficiency," said the survey.
According to the survey, in September 2010, the value of wage bonuses increased by 48% compared to September 2009, and by 38% compared to January 2010.
The staff fluctuation indicator decreased by 92% in September 2010 compared to September last year, and by 77% compared to January 2010.
In September 2010, overtime decreased by 38% compared to the same interval in 2009, and by 27% compared to January 2010.
Medical leave also decreased by 40% compared to September 2009 and by 23% compared to January 2010.
The survey included 12,350 employees and 102 private companies operating in the commerce, health, production, auto and financial sectors.
