Over 60% of Romanians would send their children to study abroad, according to a research conducted by the Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategies.

According to the poll, 61% of Romanians have a bad opinion about the Romanian education system and only 36% trust it. The poll also shows that 61% of respondents would send their children to study abroad.
Only 26% of Romanians consider the country's education system is better than that in the European Union, while 55% of them believe the EU education system is better.
About 78% of respondents said the Romanian education system is information-centered and focuses less on developing students' abilities, and 77% of them said students are not ready to meet market demands. Over 90% of Romanians believe that setting up new vocational schools would be a good thing.
Over 70% of respondents said university graduates have poor knowledge and training, and 77% said university graduation diplomas have no value.
About 86% of Romanian parents are concerned about school safety, 97% of them said school safety should be increased. Over 80% of respondents said they agree with having school uniforms reintroduced.
According to the poll, almost 80% of Romanians said teachers have low salaries, and 51% said they are poorly trained for the job, while 41% said they have the required training and knowledge.
State education is seen as better than private education (60%), and only one third of respondents think otherwise.
Over 70% of Romanians believe that the current evaluation system is inefficient and that the high school admission exam should be reintroduced.
According to the poll, 91% of parents resort to private tutors to have their children better trained, 43% said they resort to this at the request of their children's teachers, while 42% of them said they hire tutors because most parents do so.
The survey was conducted in the September 6-September 8 interval and polled 1,316 people aged over 18.
