Romania 1H FDI Falls 29% To EUR1.83B
Romanian foreign direct investment, or FDI, fell 29% to EUR1.83 billion in the first six months, from EUR2.6 billion in the year-earlier period, the central bank said Wednesday.

Equity stakes (including reinvested profit) stood at EUR1.4 billion in January to June, while intra-group loans amounted to EUR430 million.
FDI covered half of the country's current account deficit in the first six months of 2010.
Romania's current account deficit widened 50% to EUR3.65 billion in January to June, from a gap of EUR2.4 billion in the same period a year earlier.
