Romania 8-Mo FDI Falls 36% To EUR1.95B
Romanian foreign direct investment, or FDI, fell 35.9% to EUR1.95 billion in the first eight months, from EUR3.05 billion in the year-earlier period, the central bank said Wednesday.

Equity stakes (including reinvested profit) stood at EUR1.27 billion in January to August, while intra-group loans amounted to EUR683 million.
FDI covered nearly half of the country's current account deficit in the first eight months of 2010.
Romania's current account deficit widened 48.7% to EUR4.07 billion in January-August period.
