Romania Continues Efforts To Evacuate Its Citizens From Libya

Romania is continuing efforts to evacuate its citizens from Libya by air and it is working on evacuating 44 Romanians from Benghazi by sea, the Foreign Ministry said Saturday.

The ministry said in a press release 270 Romanian nationals have been evacuated so far and an aircraft is on its way to Libya to bring 50 others to Bucharest.

The Romanian Government on Wednesday approved special measures to help evacuate Romanian citizens from Libya, which is faced with social and political unrest. The Defense Ministry has commissioned two military aircrafts to help the evacuation.
