Romania February Private Lending -1.3% On Month To RON206.6B
Romanian private lending fell 1.3% in real terms to 206.6 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.1439) in February from a month earlier, but was up 3.6% on the year, central bank data showed Wednesday.

Private loans in Romanian lei declined 0.7% on the month in February, while foreign currency loans decreased by 0.9% when expressed in lei.
Compared with February 2010, loans in Romanian lei fell 10% in February, whereas hard currency loans rose 8.4% when expressed in lei.
Deposits of non-government resident customers declined 1.8% on the month to RON174.3 billion in February.
End-February, government credit was at RON62.4 billion, down 0.2% in real terms from the year earlier month.
