Health Ministry secretary of state Adrian Streinu-Cercel, alongside other ministry officials, on Tuesday set off checkups on family physicians to see how the vaccination campaign against the AH1N1 flu virus is unfolding. Sanitary inspectors will conduct similar checkups during January 7-27.

The vaccination campaign is free and available to all individuals aged over 16.

On December 15, 2009, Romanian authorities said the country is ready to produce five million doses of vaccine until February 2010.

The campaign set off on November 26, 2009, by releasing 1,340,000 doses of vaccine.
