Of the 145 new AH1N1 infections, Iasi county registered 16 cases, capital city Bucharest and Botosani county each reported 14 cases, counties Dambovita and Prahova registered 12 cases, Bacau county reported 11 cases and Vrancea county registered ten cases, according to the ministry.
Other infections with the AH1N1 pandemic virus were confirmed in counties Arad, Dolj, Hunedoara, Ialomita (six cases each), Sibiu county (five cases), Alba, Harghita, Ilfov, Tulcea (three cases each), Arges, Constanta, Giurgiu, Olt, Vaslui (two cases each), Brasov, Braila, Cluj, Mures and Neamt (one case each).
Several schools countrywide will continue to suspend activities for seven days due to the spreading of the AH1N1 infection.
Romania on Friday started a vaccination campaign against the AH1N1 virus and Health Ministry secretary of state Streinu-Cercel was the first to get the vaccine. The vaccine is to reach the entire country by Sunday.
