Romania’s Govt To Tax Discount Vouchers Offered By Cos, Stores

The Romanian Government will amend the Fiscal Code once again so that discount vouchers granted by companies and stores will no longer be considered nontaxable income.

According to a draft emergency ordinance amending the Fiscal Code, discount vouchers offered by companies or stores to increase sales will become taxable income.

Vouchers are aimed to increase companies' sales and their possessors can get discounts for products sold in stores which participate in promotions.
