The extraordinary congress of the Liberal Democratic Party, or PLD, Saturday voted with only one vote against and six abstentions in favor of the merger through absorption with the Democratic Party.

The status and the political program of the newly set up party, the Democratic Liberal Party, or PDL, were approved with only three, two abstentions respectively.
The merger through absorption of the two parties was approved with 933 votes in favor and one against.
The against vote came from the Salaj vice-president who stated his discontent with the stipulations in PDL’s status on receiving managing positions within the party based on seniority.
