The head of state said on the public television that he does not want to change the republic system and stressed that the semi-presidential republic is right for Romania.
According to Basescu, the draft law to revise the country's fundamental law will have to clarify the relation between President and Government, President and Parliament and Government and Parliament. He highlighted that the revision of the Constitution will also take into account the propositions made during public debates on the draft act.
Basescu said the head of state's prerogatives to dissolve the Parliament will remain unaltered.
