According to Kelemen, Romania will continue to have a two-chamber Parliament.

The Chamber of Deputies will have 300-301 MPs and the Senate 88, two senators for each county and one for each Bucharest sector, said the UDMR leader. He added the ruling coalition has not yet decided how these changes will be enforced. Romania's Parliament currently has 471 lawmaker seats.

UDMR senator Verestoy Attila told MEDIAFAX the ruling coalition did not hold talks on seeking lawmakers' confidence vote on the election law package. Verestoy added he is confident ruling coalition parties will be able to adopt the law package on lowering the number of lawmakers and merging elections through ordinary legislative procedures.
