Romanian overdue private loans rose 9% on the month to 15.6 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.2744) in September, equal to nearly 7.5% of the total lending, central bank data showed Wednesday.

Romania Sept Overdue Loans Up 9% On Month To RON15.6B

In September 2009, overdue non-government loans stood at RON6.5 billion.

Past due loans in Romanian lei were up 3.5% on the month to RON7.3 billion in September, while overdue foreign currency loans soared 14.6% RON8.3 billion, the data showed.

End September, overall private lending was at RON209.4 billion, barely changed from RON209.1 billion a month earlier.
