The minister called on "professional auction contestants" to understand that failure to draw up a proper bid blocks investments, and warned that the Romanian state will recover losses in court.
She said the ministry "made an effort" and convinced the European Commission to extend the deadline for the absorption of IPSA funds (Instrument for Structural Policies for Pre-Accession, e.n) to upgrade railway sections Bucharest -Constanta and Bucharest Brasov, so Romania won't be forced to pay EUR1 billion to the EC. Boagiu called on constructors to speed up infrastructure works.
The Romanian Government has recently allowed the National Authority for Public Procurement Regulation and Monitoring (ANRMAP) to check the paperwork based on which public procurement procedures are carried out. Until this week, ANRMAP only ensured that those documents existed and that public procurement steps were followed.
The first checkups the authority has carried out revealed several irregularities regarding auction documentation.
