Romania women’s eight on Sunday won the gold medal at the European Rowing Championship in Plovdiv (Bulgaria).

Romania's rowing team of Maria Bursuc, Ionelia Zaharia, Cristina Grigoras, Irina Dorneanu, Adelina Cojocariu, Andreea Boghian, Roxana Cogianu, Eniko Mironcic and Teodora Gidoiu rowed 2,000 meters in 6:14.98 minutes.
The silver medal was won by Belarus (6:20.52 minutes). Ukraine's rowing team came in the third position (6:23.82 minutes).
