The RON20 million is the maximum amount that can be obtained through the large enterprise productive investment operation, part of the sector operations program "Increasing Economic Competitiveness," co-financed form the European Regional Development Fund, according to a press release by the Ministry of Economy.

The project will be developed at Dacia's factory in Mioveni, Romania and will unfold over three years.

Early July, Dacia officials told MEDIAFAX the Mioveni factory will produce Euro 5 engines for Dacia, Renault, Nissan and Renault Samsung models, by using a new engine family and adapting one that currently conforms to the Euro 4 standard. The factory will open a new production line for the new family of Euro 5 engines, including H4 and H5. It will also adapt the K7 engine to conform to the Euro 5 standard, officials said.

Last year, the Dacia factory produced 273,559 engines: 1.4 L and 1.6 L (gasoline) and 1.9 L (diesel). Automobile Dacia sold 311,282 vehicles last year, 20% more than in 2008.
