Romanian CNSAS Member Dinescu Contested Integrity Agency’s Incompatibility Decision

The sources said Dinescu sent Monday the Bucharest Court of Appeals his contestation to the decision of the integrity agency (ANI).
"The document was sent yesterday (Monday, t.n.) by mail post to the Bucharest Court of Appeals (…) Yesterday was the last day the contestation could be submitted with the court, so everything is legal, as Dinescu respected the deadline," the sources said.
The integrity agency said earlier this month that Dinescu, who was a dissident under communism and has helped publish files that exposed public figures that had collaborated with the communist secret police, is incompatible with his position in the council because of his ownership of an agricultural firm.
ANI asked the Parliament Tuesday to dismiss Dinescu from CNSAS, as the agency's decision stating Dinescu is incompatible with public office remained final.
ANI said in a press release Tuesday the Bucharest Court of Appeals sent the agency a notification stating the document which shows Dinescu incompatible with his position in the Council was not challenged and therefore the decision remained final.
Social democrat vice-president Ion Chelaru told MEDIAFAX Tuesday the integrity agency's request to dismiss Dinescu from CNSAS will be analyzed in the Parliament's committees for legal matters.
