The National Anticorruption Department said no one has been detained in the case so far. Sources told MEDIAFAX Bian is suspected of having received money from his employees to let them keep their jobs.
Labor Minister Sulfina Barbu said anyone involved in corruption acts would be immediately fired, so as not to affect the institution's image. Barbu added she has zero tolerance for corruption.
The employment agency is subordinated to the Labor Ministry.
Bian is set to be questioned by anticorruption prosecutors in Bucharest.
