Romanian GDP/Capita Unlikely To Hit Pre-crisis Levels Until 2013 - IMF

Romanian gross domestic product per capita is not likely to return to pre-crisis levels until 2013 at the earliest, according to estimations of the International Monetary Fund.

The country's GDP per capita is estimated to drop to $7,390 this year, from around $9,500 in 2008 when the crisis started, IMF said.

The figures are expected to gradually increase starting with 2011 until they reach $9,800 in 2013, followed by a significantly bigger growth to $11,123 a year later.

In the European Union, the average GDP per capita is expected to reach $16,100 in 2010, from $18,400 in 2008.
