The winner of the procurement auction will have to poll around 15,000 people, a representative sample of Romania's population.

The participants will be asked how their living conditions have changed over the past year, when they think the economic crisis will end, how it has affected them and whether the Government's actions are doing the job of overcoming the crisis.

The Executive also wants the citizens' position on the Rosia Montana gold mining project, the layoffs in the public sector, the cash-for-clunkers and "First Home" programs, as well as their opinion on public services.

To encourage people to take part in the poll, which asks more than 160 questions, the survey operator will give each participant gifts worth around RON15.

Such a survey was also ordered by the Government in the fall of 2009.
