Romanian Health Minister Withdraws Healthcare Bill

Romanian Health Minister Ladislau Ritli has pulled the healthcare bill out of public debate, on the request of Prime Minister Emil Boc, the Government announced Friday.

Earlier, President Traian Basescu called on the prime minister to withdraw the bill, having seen that a large part of the public and of the healthcare system do not want it to change.

According to him, competition between hospitals, family doctors and local authorities would have been a way to improve the Romanian healthcare system.
