Romanian Health Ministry May Inspect Any Public Or Private Healthcare Unit
Romania's Health Ministry can carry out controls in any public or private healthcare unit, as of Wednesday, according to an ordinance approved by the Government.

The act says controls of units outside the Ministry's authority will be run by mixed committees, including Ministry officials and representatives of the unit in question.
Before this act, healthcare inspectors' access and activity were restricted. In addition, certain financial, human resources, organization and wage activities in public hospitals did not have associated penalties for poor performance.
