Education and healthcare system unionists in the Romanian city of Iasi are planning to hold a rally on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Laviniu Lacusta, leader of education union USLIP, said a rally will be held Friday in front of the Palace of Culture in Iasi. USLIP has more than ten thousand members.
Viorel Tanase, head of healthcare union SANITAS Iasi, said his union will join the protest. "The Basescu regime must be removed," he added.
Iasi Mayor Gheorghe Nichita called on the city's citizens to hold a peaceful protest, like Sunday, when 500 people were on the streets, calling a civilized demonstrations "a weapon more powerful than the violence we've seen in [Bucharest]."
A few hundred people protested Saturday and Sunday in Iasi's Union Square, demanding President Traian Basescu's resignation.
