Romanian hydrologists on Wednesday issued a flood warning for the Danube, with a code orange for Calafat-Bechet segment, in the southern Dolj County, and code yellow for the rest of the river's Romanian sector.

The code orange advisory on the Calafat-Bechet segment enters effect Friday morning.
As of Wednesday afternoon, a code yellow is in effect in the Danube areas of Gruia, Zimnicea and Isaccea, and as of Saturday, December 11, on the segment Corabia - Turnu Magurele (the Olt and Teleorman counties), and in the area of Fetesti, Cernavoda and Tulcea.
Another warning says several rivers in northern Romania are in danger of flooding, with Crasna, in Satu Mare County, facing the highest risk and designated with a code orange from Thursday morning until Friday afternoon.
A code yellow has also been issued for seven rivers in the north and north-west, valid from Thursday to Friday: Viseu, Iza, Tur, Lapus, Barcau, Crisul Negru and Crisul Repede, as well as another sector of Crasna, other than the one under a code orange.
