The agency said Thursday in a press release that, following checkups in Vergu's case, the institution found "clear evidence" of a conflict of interest.
Vergu was informed about the start of investigations into her case on February 7, 2011. Following checkups, integrity inspectors noted Vergu has been manager of a commercial company since October 18, 2006.
On November 18, 2009 the General Management Authority for operational program developing human resources, within the Labor Ministry, approved a request filed by the company administered by Vergu to finance a project. According to the agency, the funding contract was signed on January 27, 2010 and Vergu was appointed adviser of the education minister on December 24, 2009.
Evidence shows that Verdu diverted the EU funds she received for the project, said the agency.
Education Minister Daniel Funeriu dismissed Vergu in June 2010 after media reported the ministry official was incompatible with public office.
The integrity agency is checking Vergu's wealth.
