Romanian Local Police To Handle Public Order, Road Traffic

Romania's Defense Council on Monday approved a plan to reconfigure the public order system, with the Government to adopt the legislation necessary to transfer duties related to public order and traffic from the Nation Police to the Local Police.

This move will improve the efficiency of police activity on the field, says a Presidential Administration press release.

The Council also approved the signing of the agreement between Romania and the United States of America, amending a previous agreement on the protection of top secret military information, signed in Washington on June 21, 1995.
