According to Senate Chairman Mircea Geoana, 281 lawmakers are present at the meeting alongside Labor Minister Ioan Botis, Interior Minister Traian Igas, Finance Minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu and Agriculture Minister Valeriu Tabara.
The no-confidence motion, submitted in Parliament Tuesday and endorsed by 210 opposition MPs, will be debated and put to the vote on March 16.
Social democrat lawmaker Mircea Dusa said Tuesday the no-confidence motion targets both the vote of confidence procedure and the amendments to labor laws approved by the Government.
On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Emil Boc asked for lawmakers' confidence vote to pass the new labor laws, which, he said, make the local labor market more flexible and serve the interests of people willing to work.
