The Liberal Party, Social Democratic Party and Conservative Party have agreed to withdraw from all Parliament activities, in protest against the ruling coalition.
"Our protest is prompted by the recent attitude of the ruling coalition, which refuses to take note of the extent of public dissatisfaction, refuses dialogue as a means toward a political solution, attempts to stall for time and deceive, as well as belatedly bribe Romanian voters," said Antonescu.
The liberal leader explained that USL MPs will retain their votes and will be prepared to use them "in situations of utmost importance," meaning possible solutions to the political crisis, such as decisions or bills on early elections, motions of no-confidence, President Traian Basescu's suspension or changes to election legislation.
