The Liberal Party's standing office has approved unanimously Wednesday leader Crin Antonescu's proposition to form an alliance with the Conservative Party. The final decision belongs to the party's standing delegation, which is expected to assemble Sunday or next week.
Also Wednesday, Victor Ponta, head of the Social Democratic Party, said the party is considering a medium-term alliance with liberals, for the next six to eight years. Ponta said this project is not just to ensure a more powerful opposition but is meant to continue when the current government is replaced.
