Romanian Parliament Committees OK Draft 2012 Budgets Of Health Min, Health Insurance House
The Romanian Parliament’s health committees on Monday approved with 14 to ten votes the draft 2012 budgets of the Health Ministry and the National Health Insurance House (CNAS).

Health Minister Ladislau Ritli said Friday the healthcare system's budget for next year was set at 5.47 billion lei (about EUR1.25 billion), up about RON648 million compared with 2011.
According to Ritli, investment projects targeting both healthcare units administered by the ministry and units which have been decentralized will continue in 2012.
National Health Insurance House president Lucian Duta said CNAS's budget proposed for next year amounts to RON17.7 billion, 7.7% higher than that in 2011, of RON16.4 billion.
According to Duta, CNAS's 2012 budget for free and discounted drugs increased 13.3%, that for dialysis programs rose 19.9% and that for primary care climbed 14.3%. Funds allotted to hospitals rose 7%. On the other hand, administration expenses were cut by 1.8%.
Duta said 20% of CNAS's 2012 budget will be allotted for free and discounted drugs, 10% for national healthcare programs, 7% for primary care and 42% for hospitals.
