Romanian Parliament Dismisses Ombudsman Gheorghe Iancu

Gheorghe Iancu was dismissed Tuesday as Romanian Ombudsman by the Parliament, which also decided that Valer Dorneanu will take over the position in an acting capacity.

Iancu's dismissal was approved with 236 votes for, one vote against and 19 abstentions.

The Democratic-Liberal Party group did not take part in the vote.
