Romanian PM-Designate: New Ruling Coalition Has 231 Seats In Parliament

Romanian Prime Minister-designate Victor Ponta said Friday that, as two more MPs have joined the Liberal Party, the new ruling coalition USL has 231 seats in Parliament, exactly the number needed to endorse the new Government, plus the minorities' group and UNPR.

Ponta said he has negotiated with the minorities and former coalition members UNPR, to ensure a more stable majority supporting the new Executive.

All in all, the new Government can count on around 270 votes.
