"No official investigation targeting the minister has been started. Therefore, he will remain a full-right member of the Government. At this moment, there is no information about legal proceedings being started against him," said Boc.
Borbely said Wednesday he is not involved in any influence peddling case and all accusations against him are groundless.
He had a meeting with leaders of the Democratic Union for Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), part of the ruling coalition and of which he is a member, and denied any wrongdoing.
The Anticorruption Department (DNA) is currently investigating an influence peddling case in which Borbely is allegedly involved. Borbely allegedly benefited from EUR20,000 worth of works on an apartment in exchange for his influence in awarding public contracts to a company based in Negresti Oas.
UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor said Borbely has the party's political support, adding he is confident the accusations brought against the minister will soon prove false.
