According to the sources, talks will also focus on the opposition's no-confidence motion against the Government, which was submitted to Parliament Monday.
People with direct knowledge of talks told MEDIAFAX Wednesday the Government wants to convene on Sunday to discuss the amendments to the education bill before the confidence vote. They also said talks on this issue might also be continued on Tuesday if some of the amendments need a more thorough analysis.
The standing offices of the Romanian Senate and Chamber of Deputies decided Monday that the Government will seek a confidence vote in Parliament on October 28 to pass the education bill. They also decided amendments to the bill should be submitted by Monday, October 25.
The opposition's no-confidence motion will be debated on October 27. The opposition needs the votes of at least 236 lawmakers to overthrow the center-right coalition government, which has a frail majority in Parliament.
