The Constitutional Court rejected Monday a contestation submitted by opposition social democrats, targeting this law.
On October 12, the Romanian Chamber of Deputies adopted a normative act whereby the payment of court-won wage rights in the public sector will be postponed until 2016. Lawmakers also changed the value of their yearly tranches as follows: 5% in 2012, 10% in 2013, 25% in 2014, 25% in 2015 and 35% in 2016.
The bill had already been adopted by the Senate.
