Romanian President Suggests Project Setting Doctors', Teachers' Wages Considering Work Complexity

Romanian President Traian Basescu called on the Government to introduce in the future agreement with the International Monetary Fund a pilot project whereby teachers and doctors would sign contracts setting their wages according to the complexity of their activities.

The head of state said that, by implementing this system, doctors and teachers will cease to be state employees.

The President attended the Government's meeting on Wednesday.
